- Non-metallic Cables:Sheathing material used to produce non-metallic cables are cardboard or weighted paper, which is covered in plastic. These cables are mostly used where the chances of damage are quite insignificant, and they are protected from water and moister. They are used in electrical switches, outlets and other types of building wiring.
- BX Cable:It is covered in a metallic flexible sheath. A ground wire is not required due to the metal part of sheath. Since the sheath is flexible we are able to use it in compact spaces. For this reason, this type of cable is applicable in basements-areas that contain moister.
- UF Cables:Also known as underground feed cables are designed with heavy paper and plastic for insulation attributes. As the name refers these cables are applicable in underground areas like subways and branch circuit
