Telecommunication by word means communication from a far distance. Before the invention of the telephone, the medium of communication that was used was actually a coded format which needed a trained person to code and decode the message. Everyone is almost introduced to the operation and construction of a cable. However, there are different types of cables that are used in the communication standards depended on the capacity of the data rate and the condition of its installation. Some of the important cable types which are the most essential in telecommunication industry will be discussed here.

The signal is transmitted inside the conductor and the covering insulation is there to eliminate the electromagnetic effect which is produced when a current is passed through a conductor. This cable has the tendency to carry the signal through a long distance.

It helps to connect the network devices like routers and other telecommunication networking devices. Construction of this Ethernet cable involves eight wires enclosed inside the cable. Multiple cables inside this cable make it more flexible and environment-friendly.

It is composed of either one or multiple fibers and the electrical signals are transmitted as light signals. That is why the fiber optics transmission rate is quite close to the speed of light. Also, in fiber optics, the core of the fiber contains small slices of optics now as the light signal is injected inside the cable it undergoes total internal reflection procedure. Every point of interaction of the light signal at the glass reflects the signal with the same direction and intensity. So, the signal has very less attenuation and indeed better signal quality.
